Bango FAQs

Why traditional web analytics don't work on mobile?

Many popular web analytics tools available today - like Omniture and Google Analytics - rely on JavaScript tags for data collection. Using this method, site owners place a tag on every page they wish to track; when a visitor accesses a tagged page, event-level data is sent back to the web analytics tool. Tracking this way is problematic because mobile browsers do not reliably support JavaScript. Another method uses cookies so the analytics tool can recognize when users return. This is also problematic as most phones don't store cookies and those that do, will often delete them when the phone is turned off or the browser session ended.

Can I measure how much mobile traffic I'm getting to my PC website?

How long is it going to take me to install Bango Mobile Analytics?

Bango Mobile Analytics is a hosted service so no software or hardware needs to be installed on the server. This means it only takes a few minutes to get going with Bango - just add a line of html code to each page that needs tracking. To track mobile marketing campaigns, grab a tracking link from your Bango account and use this as the URL you send your users to. We do the rest - it couldn't be simpler.

What does it mean that you are independent?

Bango does not deliver search or advertising so there are no conflicts of interest. Use our tools to get a third party view across all your advertising suppliers. Read the Tapatap case study and see why they value the independence of Bango Mobile Analytics.
