Purchase Ledger Clerk


We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our Finance Team. This is a part-time role (20 hours/week over 5 days) with flexible working hours.

Job details

The role:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work within a high functioning team which includes a Management accountant, Operational Accountant and Revenue Controller.
  • Maintain all elements of the purchase ledgers for 10 companies, including USD and JPY ledgers.
  • Manage the overheads of the business and prepare payment runs.
  • Control the company's credit card and company expenses.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and chase up unauthorised invoices.
  • Support the management accountant in producing journals for the monthly management accounts.

Essential requirements:

  • Strongly motivated, flexible individual who is able to manage own workload.
  • Must have advanced experience of working with Sage 200 (or similar versions of Sage).
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, confident liaising with suppliers.
  • Highly organised individual with the ability to manage your own time and handle multi-task delivery to short timescales.


  • Accountancy qualification (e.g. AAT).
  • Experience of working with multiple currencies and managing bank deposits.
