Ray is Chief Executive of Bango, the business that uniquely enables content providers to market, deliver and sell their products and services directly to mobile phone users on all networks world-wide.
He co-founded Bango in 1999 after realizing that the convergence of the internet with the ubiquity of mobile phones could open up huge opportunities for content and service providers. Ray positioned the company to benefit from the opening up of the operator portals in 2004, and the transition of the mobile content business from a messaging model to a customer friendly browse and buy Internet model.
In 2005, Ray led the successful floatation of the company, and continues to build and steer the Bango team forward in to one of the most exciting markets in history.
In 1988, Ray established IXI which created the industry standard network GUI - X.desktop. IXI was an early leader in the creation of the web. It sponsored the first ever WWW conference at CERN and shipped the world's first mercial web browser. In 1993 The company merged with SCO and then floated on NASDAQ. Ray held senior executive roles in SCO, including general manager, senior VP Marketing, and senior VP of New Ventures. He played a key role in transforming SCO from being a small "PC Unix" company to it becoming the industry standard Intel Unix provider.
Before IXI Ray was a co-founder of Torch Computers which he sold to CATSCO in 1984. Before that he worked for Acorn Computers, The General Electric Company and Sinclair Research.
Ray is an entrepreneur, innovator and investor with 20 years experience. He was named "Technology Entrepreneur of the Year" in February 2006 and in September 2006 at the ME Awards was given a special award for outstanding contribution to the mobile entertainment industry. A member of "The Cambridge Angels", Ray was a founding investor in a variety of growing companies including TeamStudio, Tenison Technology, Electronic Share Information (sold to E*Trade), Aspective, Trigenix (sold to Qualcomm), RE5ULT (82ASK), Shortfuze, Midentity and other technology businesses. He holds a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Cambridge University. He is a keen pilot.

As Co-founder and SVP of Alliances & Marketing, Anil Malhotra is focussed on building long-term relationships with mobile operators and other infrastructure players such as billing providers and handset manufacturers. Anil is a highly experienced, senior marketing and business development manager, with 15 years experience in building entrepreneurial, fast-growth start-up businesses, in the Internet, software publishing and technology sectors.
Formerly with IXI, Anil won worldwide deals with US, Japanese and European industry giants including IBM, Digital and Sun Microsystems. During his time with the company, he also oversaw valuable licensing agreements with blue chip corporations. After IXI's merger with SCO, Anil became VP marketing for the user products division.
After two years he left to join the board of CyberLife Technology in 1995 as Business Development Director. There, he secured licensing agreements with Sony, Hasbro, Mindscape Entertainment and Warner Interactive. He left in 1999 to found Bango. He holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University of Wales and an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Essex University.
Peter provides the financial leadership, direction and policy guidance to the company as it continues to grow rapidly. He is also responsible for ensuring the company's operational efficiencies are maintained as its global roll-out gathers pace. Peter has over 20 years experience in all financial disciplines including accounting, fund-raising and acquisitions.
After achieving a BSc (Hons) in Management Sciences from UMIST, Peter Saxton qualified as a chartered accountant in 1981. He joined Sinclair Research as Financial Controller, then as Finance Director at Nexus Payment Systems which provided services to clients in the LINK ATM network. He was part of the three-man management buy-out that led to a successful European expansion and subsequent disposal to Sligos, a leading French payment system business
From 1996 to 2001 he was Finance Director at PayPoint, the UK’s leading branded utility bill payment company. From start-up, Peter was responsible for all finance activity and enabled the company to profitably process more than £2 billion of payments per year.
As SVP World-wide Sales, Martin is responsible for the direct sales and business development operations in the USA, Europe and Asia Pacific regions. He also heads up the Strategic Partner team that provides the channel for embedded Bango products and services used by mobile service providers world-wide.
Previously, as Sales Director at iii.co.uk (Interactive Investor International plc) Martin helped the company to a leading market position and through a subsequent IPO in February 2000. Martin spent 12 months with AT&T Labs, heading global new technology sales. Before that, he was at Sun Microsystems for 10 years in sales and sales management positions where he was one of Sun's most successful European salesmen. He has also held senior roles at NCR and Torch Computers in the USA and Canada.
As VP Web Sales, Adam is responsible for business development and evolving the ongoing strategy for Bango's US operations.
With 15 years experience in the internet and payments industries, Adam has played key roles in developing start-up companies to become successful global businesses. Initially working for Pipex, one of Europe's first business focused ISPs, then taken over by UUNET, he provided internet services to companies such as JP Morgan.
Most recently Adam worked with WorldPay, an internet payment company who were purchased by Royal Bank of Scotland, the world's fifth largest Bank. He was responsible their Asia Pacific Ecommerce operations and grew their Asian business from start up to become one of the strongest payment service providers in the region, before joining their global payment strategy team.
Nandi is responsible for expanding Bango’s relationships and establishing new ones with mobile operators and strategic partners globally. A seasoned executive and entrepreneur in technology, Nandi has been in Mobile and Internet industries from the early days. His depth of experience in the global mobile marketplace will prove invaluable to Bango's global expansion.
Prior to joining Bango, Nandi was Sales Director for PocketThis, a Silicon Valley provider of mobile contextualization technology, where he managed tier one carrier and partner relationships across the EU. In 1999 Nandi co-founded SurfKitchen, the leading provider of mobile dynamic user experience (DUE) software. From 1999 to 2003 he drove the company's business and corporate development efforts globally, helped develop the company's proposition and go to market strategy, plus securing major operator accounts. Nandi has also served as an entrepreneur in residence with Morning Street Capital, a NY private equity group.
Andy is responsible for the interface between the Bango products and markets; considering product requirements, positioning and promotion. He leads the company's product proposition and strategy.
Andy has over 12 years experience within the global internet market, working for both start-ups and established brands. He has been active with the World Wide Web from its inception and was involved in the first web conference, at CERN in 1994. Andy integrated a wide range of web technologies into the X-desktop product range for IXI Ltd; he introduced the world to the Web-based Desktop (Webtop) at SCO; and designed the first web-based remote application access solutions for Tarantella Inc., allowing remote and mobile workforces to use mission critical applications from centrally located Unix, Linux and Windows servers over the Internet. Before joining Bango, Andy was Head of Marketing and Product Management for ANT plc, the leading supplier of web-based user interface platforms for the IPTV market. Prior to that, he was responsible for world-wide marketing at Microsoft Research in Cambridge. Andy holds a BSc in Computer Science from Staffordshire University.
A seasoned Marketing executive with over 20 years experience in the hi-tech sector, Sarah oversees all aspects of Bango's marketing, with particular emphasis on media and customer relations.
Sarah has worked in public relations, in market research and then as Marketing Manager at IXI Limited where she oversaw marketing from the start-up stage, to its position as a world leader in its sector and through to sale of the business to SCO Inc. While at SCO, her expertise was focused on product marketing and extended into web marketing in the early years of the Internet . While at Creature Labs, Sarah developed web marketing for the community of 1 million plus games users world-wide. Prior to joining Bango, Sarah was Marketing Manager at Amino Communications, a designer of set-top boxes and embedded systems. She has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bath.
Elaine has over 10 years experience in managing professional and customer services in Internet and Electronic Commerce. Elaine is responsible for supporting all Bango customers and managing special projects, including Java.com. She has extensive knowledge in setting up customer service operations, project management and Internet technologies.
Prior to working at Bango Elaine was head of Customer Services for an EDI/XML Electronic Commerce company. This involved working with large corporate customers including British Airways, Colgate Palmolive, Anheuser Busch. Elaine has a degree in Business Management.
Tim is an expert in the field of high volume, database backed content management systems as used by mobile operators and news portals, with many years of experience in small and start-up companies offering Internet based services and products. Tim's role is to ensure the Bango development team turn the Bango vision into a technical reality.
Prior to working at Bango, Tim was Chief Technical Architect at Sportal International, who ran Europe's leading and award winning sports news portal, where he helped them take traffic from 1m pages a month to 1.5m in an hour, from over 2.5m unique users.
Tim has also worked with financial risk management products, used by Tier 1 investment banks, where high systems availability is crucial. Tim has a background in software product development and systems administration and architecture, holding positions at blue-chip organisations such as IBM, O2 and SCO and has a degree in Software Engineering from Edinburgh University.
Liz is responsible for all HR issues within the company including the welfare of all staff around the world and management of all Bango offices world-wide.
With over seven years experience in HR, Liz has worked at Lockheed Martin (formerly Hunting Engineering) as an HR Graduate, Nissan Technology Centre Europe in the training department and HFC Bank Windsor as an HR Officer. In her role at HFC Bank she was the HR representative for over 350 employees around the UK. Liz has a degree in Sociology from the University of Leicester and is a Chartered member of the CIPD.
