Database Developer

Database Developer needed to join us at the cutting edge of mobile web technology. Bango collects payments for digital content worldwide and delivers the best user experience. Our leading Analytics product enables our customers to accurately measure their mobile marketing success. This newly created Database Developer role would suit someone from a software developer with strong database skills. You will be responsible for the development work on our databases.

At Bango you will:

  • Work across development teams providing expertise with developing products, modules and functionality to support the Bango service, with specific emphasis on database development and optimizations
  • Analyze, monitor and improve database systems, working with core systems developers to interface with database technologies
  • Contribute hands on technical and architectural expertise to new developments as Bango continues to break new ground and explore new technologies
  • Contribute directly to projects such as data warehousing, transactional database systems for our Payment and Analytics products
  • Work closely with our DBA on more in depth queries
  • Assist with database maintenance on an ad hoc basis

You must have experience/skills in the following areas:

  • In depth experience of transactional databases using MS SQL Server
  • Advanced knowledge of database development methodologies, design and implementation, using MS SQL Server and ideally MySQL
  • Multi-concurrent, highly transactional database processes as well as massively large data volumes execution plans, tracing and stored procedure optimizations
  • Using MS SQL Server to write bespoke queries and use of normalized and de-normalized data structures, stored procedures, functions, triggers and views

Desired skills:

  • Data transfer methods such as DTS and SSIS
  • Experience of data migration and replication
  • Appreciation of column-based database technology
  • Microsoft .NET Framework (C# or VB.NET)

About you

Good communicator, self motivated, able to use your initiative, solutions focused, with a passion for technology, fast changes and teamwork.

Salary £30,000 to £40,000 + benefits, including up to 28 days holiday, share option scheme, flexible start and finish times. Relaxed dress code and open office plan.

The job is based out of our Cambridge office.
