Ray Anderson named Technology Entrepreneur of the Year

February 23, 2006 - Ray Anderson, CEO at mobile content enabler Bango, has been named Technology Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Technology Innovation & Growth Awards. Considered the Academy Awards of the technology industry, the awards are sponsored by PriceWaterhouseCoopers to recognise the driving forces behind the technology industry, now and in the future.

The gala award evening in London on February 21, 2006 was attended by over 600 influential people and hosted by former CNN anchor John Defterios. The award ceremony was opened by Rt Hon Sir Richard Needham, Deputy Chair, Dyson who emphasised the importance of innovation and entrepreneurial flair to the continuing health and growth of the technology sector.

Anderson was recognised for leading Bango from start-up to its successful flotation and through to its position as global leader in the mobile content sector, helping businesses capitalise on the huge opportunity in the mobile market. Having already created two successful technology businesses, Anderson was praised for re-entering the technology sector with another innovative business idea and bringing that to market.

Anderson is an entrepreneur, innovator and investor with 20 years experience holding senior roles in the USA and Europe, building businesses, management teams and M&A. He was a founding investor in a variety of growing companies including TeamStudio, Tenison Technology, E*Trade UK, Aspective, Trigenix (sold to Qualcomm), Midentity and other technology businesses. He holds a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from Cambridge University.
