Bango CEO receives industry accolade at ME Awards

September 21, 2006 – Bango's CEO Ray Anderson received a special award for “Outstanding contribution to mobile entertainment” at the first ever ME Awards on 19 September 2006 in London. In addition, Bango customers – MTV, Universal Music, Enpocket, Fonestarz and Cherrysauce – also won awards on the night for their own contributions to the mobile entertainment industry.

The award that Ray Anderson received recognizes Bango’s role in enabling content providers to market, sell and deliver mobile entertainment directly to millions of consumers across the world via the mobile internet, using browse and buy technology pioneered by Bango. Ray Anderson co-founded Bango in 1999 with Anil Malhotra, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Alliances, after realizing that the convergence of the internet with the ubiquity of mobile phones would create a huge global market for content and service providers.

The Awards event at London’s Royal Gardens Hotel attracted over 350 executives from media, technology and entertainment companies around the world.
