Improved payment flow increases sales

Last week we deployed a range of enhancements to the payment flow that have made measurable improvements in spending by users.

These changes apply mainly to users in South Africa, India, Scandinavia and Indonesia so now is the time to focus on marketing to these countries as the improved payment flow makes it is easier for consumers in these countries to buy your content.


If we know their phone
number, we prefill it

We automatically generate
a passcode for them

For users on networks where the mobile operator "masks" user identity and a user needs to use a "passcode", we now issue a code by default (that the user can change) rather than asking a user to choose one. This and other changes, such as pre-filling the phone number field where "log in" flow is required have increased the number of successful user interactions by more than 12,000 per day. The Text and Web trigger processes have also been streamlined.

Bango works hard to improve your sales by continually enhancing the Bango Service. The user flow is evolved through a scientific method. Usability studies, user feedback, partners and content providers suggest ways to improve the user experience. We prototype the proposals and then test them and measure the results. The ideas that work are deployed.

With millions of transactions across thousands of content providers, we have a great opportunity to provide the "gold standard" of user experience across a wide range of different billing providers. Mobile operators often ask Bango for advice when they are developing their user flows.

In India, South Africa, Indonesia and Scandinavia where payment is easier than ever thanks to Bango there are over 400 million mobile phone users, a high prevalence of English language skills and a lot of existing browsing traffic looking for great content. Don’t forget to think about your pricing policies for new markets, make full use of mobile search and monitor your Bango accounts to keep track of where your end user traffic is coming from.
