Simple addressing with WAP.com

Bango has obtained the domain name WAP.com to provide you with a quick and easy way to promote a short cut to any point in your mobile site.

Simply point a Bango Number to a place in your site and tell your customers to use word.wap.com as the URL where "word" is the Bango Number, or a "phonespelling" of the letters that correspond to the Bango Number. For example, The Sun newspaper points the Bango Number 78686637 (phonespelling - SunTones) to the ringtones part of their mobile site, meaning that they can tell their customers to go direct to suntones.wap.com to get great ringtones.

If you are promoting your mobile site using Txt Trigger, just use the same word. Manchester United promote the Txt Trigger GO MUFC to 83055 which means they can also promote the URL mufc.wap.com.

Try it for yourself

Using the generic URL wap.com means your customers immediately know that they are going to a mobile site. It's also easy to type in on a phone key pad making your site simple to get to as well as promote. This is especially useful for your US customers who are comfortable typing in URLs.

If you already have a great domain name that you want to use, continue to use it, but use word.wap.com to get your customers to places deep inside your site where a normal URL might be too long. Another really cool feature is that every time somebody accesses your WAP.com URL it is counted by the Bango system. You can easily keep track of the exact number of responses to your campaigns from the "statistics" area of the Members' Lounge.

The WAP.com service is working now and is available to all Bango customers, regardless of the package you are subscribed to, at no extra charge.
