Million message madness - FREE texts
Million message madness began with a bang yesterday, November 5th.
It's a service that lets your customers spread the word about your site with a free 'Tell a friend' message. This worldwide offer is particularly attractive for users in areas where messaging is expensive.
Word-of-mouth messaging like 'Tell a friend' is one of the most effective forms of viral marketing. If a single user forwards a message to just 10 friends, then each of those pass it to 10 more friends and so on, the overall growth snowballs very quickly. So the potential for increased revenues is unlimited.
And because information is passed from a reliable source - friends or family - recipients of 'Tell a friend' messages are more likely to follow up recommendations about your content.
How it works
Your users click a link on your site to send a WAP Push to their friend's phone with a message explaining just how good your content is. When the recipient follows the WAP Push, they are taken directly to your site. It works just like a Txt Trigger.
Get promoting now
The service is available world-wide (as long as SMS is available) and is easy for you to set up. Just ask your customers to 'Tell a friend' about your site with a text link like: " Tell your friends about this site for FREE!" which you can embed into your mobile site at key points:
On your WAP site include wording "Tell a friend - FREE " or something similar.
Link to http://bango.net/sendfriend.aspx?sendbango=xxx where xxx is the Bango Number of your site. It must be the free entry page in your site.
When users click through, they can send the free 'Tell a friend' message.
This offer will end at midnight on 12 November 2006 or after one million messages have been sent, whichever is sooner. More information about the 'Tell a friend' service can be found here.
