Customer Update 9th June 2008

South Africa - alive with mobile possibilities!

South Africa on-bill payment is on its way. Bango has been doing extensive testing with the major operators in South Africa and we are pleased to announce that the testing has been successful. We are just waiting for them to switch it on.

With over 42 million mobile subscribers across 3 operators, and a penetration rate of about 85-90%, South Africa (SA) is one of the more dynamic markets for mobile content. Having seen consistently high off-portal traffic levels there and demand from content providers to market to SA subscribers, Bango is keen to engage with the operators to help grow their off-portal services.

There are key reasons for the high traffic growth in SA;

• Operators offer data browsing virtually at no cost
• A growing cosmopolitan and mobile savvy user base
• Appetite/choice of English language content
• The operators actively embracing off-portal.

The two operators on board are Vodacom and MTN, which hold over 90% of the mobile market.

With the mobile web industry booming, it is important to take note of the South African Operator regulations. Much like PayforIT in the UK it is important to ensure that your mobile site conforms to the South African rules. More information about these rules can be found on the Knowledge Base.

We will send out a Customer Update to give details of the price points and payout rates when we can confirm that the service is live.

Kind regards
