UK Payforit compliance – we are ready to flip the switch!
Here’s an important update on Payforit, the UK cross-operator initiative to promote a safe and trustworthy environment for payments on the mobile phone. Payforit compliance will be automatically implemented as required by the UK operators within the Bango system. You don't need to change anything in your mobile web site.
Bango recently organized and hosted a very successful session where 35 leading content providers met with the 5 UK operators to discuss Payforit and the way ahead. O2 announced their intent to mandate Payforit for "WAP billing" flows from April 2007. We are ready to activate Payforit the moment it becomes mandatory.
Each operator may add its own implementation requirements, and the scheme rules are likely to evolve over time as they each learn more about the different models. As a Bango customer you’re in good hands:
1. You don't need to do any work
Where operators make Payforit mandatory, or where out-payments to you are higher we activate it automatically.
2. Same or improved out-payments going forward
Payforit does not affect the billing methods used, but as volumes climb, out-payments to all Bango content providers will increase. Our goal remains to continuously reduce the cost of billing.
With the new Bango Advantage package, you get all the benefits of our connections to more than 40 billers, including Payforit compliant ones, and the upside of high out-payment (up to 94%).
3. Automatic switching to best available payment options
Where Payforit is not the best payment option – for example if the operator billing method is disabled or the user is browsing in to your site from outside the UK – we will use the payment method that yields the best return for you.
4. Global coverage
Because there is no separate interface for Payforit compliant flows - Bango does that automatically where required - your mobile site automatically has global reach, perfect on the mobile web! You get coverage of the 30 million UK mobile web users, but you also get reach to another 700 million around the world.
5. Proven history
