Leverage mobile advertising to boost your sales today

Mobile advertising is set to become an increasingly important tool in maximising your revenue. We have seen many content providers run successful advertising campaigns, seeing a 150% return on their investment.

Make sure you get your content in front of people ready to buy

Bango has partnered with the top mobile advertising companies to help you drive more traffic to your site. AdMob saw a 17.5% increase in network impressions in December 2007 compared to November, so make sure you are getting your share of that traffic. Remember you're advertising to people already using the mobile internet - prime prospects for your service.

Here are some tips to ensure you get the best return on your investment:

  • Pay special attention to the content and design of your ads. Have a clear call to action, such as "Click here" and make it obvious to the user what they will receive if they click on your ad.

  • Manage the user's expectations. If you are promoting a subscription service then say so. You may get fewer clicks, but you will get a higher conversion rate as users know what they are getting. You will get a much better return from clear, honest and accurate ads.

  • Target your ads wisely. If for example you are selling a Java game into the US then don't forget to target Java phones in the US only. You will only pay for clicks that are made by users who can actually buy your content.

  • Think global. Bango gives you the opportunity to sell content world wide so why not take advantage and advertise globally, before your competitors do. Remember if you use a pay per click model you will not have large setup costs, and in fact click rates are often lower for non-UK campaigns.

  • Watch conversion rates like a hawk. If you are paying per click then it's more important than ever to get good conversion rates. You might get great traffic from Indonesia, but you might find conversion to payment is very low or the prices you have to offer are too low to make it worthwhile.

  • Encourage people to bookmark your site. You will get repeat customers without having to pay again for a click through.

  • Finally, why not flip the coin? If you have a mobile site with good traffic then why not monetize it? There are many ways you can incorporate ads into your offering and generate an extra revenue stream overnight
