Campaign initiated by Bango brings together over 125 companies under MAG umbrella to promote mobile web awareness and consumer benefits.

The dotMobi Advisory Group (MAG) and Bango today announced the successful “ilovemobileweb” (www.ilovemobileweb.com) global awareness campaign launched in October 2007 will now be managed, operated and supported by the MAG.
With the joint announcement, 25 global ilovemobileweb charter members including Bango, the Mobile Marketing Association, the dotMobi company and Winksite are joined by over 100 MAG members to promote the mobile web as a great place to do business with a common goal of raising awareness of mobile web benefits to consumers around the world. Joining the ilovemobileweb campaign is free; with sponsorship for events, gatherings, publications, memorabilia and outreach programs available to all interested parties.
ilovemobileweb supporters campaign to:

  • Raise awareness of the mobile web with consumers around the world
  • Encourage open access to the mobile web for every user
  • Provide consumers with choice of content and services
  • Provide easy pathways for fixed Internet publishers to move to mobile
  • More standardization of devices and development platforms

“The dotMobi Advisory Group is very pleased to spearhead the ilovemobileweb global initiative moving forward. We would like to thank the ilovemobileweb campaign creator Bango along with all the charter members for launching this much needed industry-wide awareness campaign for the mobile web. As the only global trade community focused solely on the mainstream mobile web, the ilovemobileweb campaign is an excellent way for us all to promote the key business drivers, benefits and industry best practices needed to move the mobile web economy forward.”– Michael J. O’Farrell, Chair of the dotMobi Advisory Group.

“A whole new generation of consumers are growing up today expecting easy access to the Internet from a mobile phone,” said Anil Malhotra, SVP of Marketing at Bango who created the campaign initiative. “We are very pleased that the MAG community is bringing the ilovemobileweb campaign to the wider business community and consumer audiences globally.”
The MAG will officially kick-off its support for the new initiative with an ilovemobileweb party taking place on April 1, 2008 during this year’s CTIA Wireless 2008 event in Las Vegas. The party is open to all MAG members, ilovemobileweb registered supporters and their invited guests. Sponsors for the MAG hosted ilovemobileweb party at CTIA Wireless 2008 include Bango, dotMobi, ooober, Smaato, Medio and the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association.
