Bango Payment Platform ensures rapid, error-free integration and activation
Bango and Batelco, the Bahraini mobile operator, have launched carrier billing for Google Play ahead of schedule, thanks to the highly-evolved capabilities of the Bango Payment Platform. Batelco customers started using carrier billing to purchase apps, games, music and films, after the operator completed a rapid, error-free activation of the service using the Bango Payment Platform.
The Bango platform technology has enabled the smooth launch of more than 20 app store grade carrier billing routes across the Middle East region. The Batelco Google Play activation was in the same week as the Bango Payment Platform was used to activate Google Play in Oman. For the first time it is now possible for Android users in these countries to purchase from Google Play using the one-click convenience and broad reach of carrier billing, instead of credit cards. More than 150 app store billing routes have been launched for app stores through the Bango Payment Platform. The flexibility of the Bango platform enabled Batelco Bahrain to launch early, with no delays during integration, test and activation.
“We couldn’t have made the launch a reality without Bango. Bango technology and exceptional project management meant we got to market extremely fast, launching earlier than scheduled, enabling us to capture additional revenue that would otherwise have been lost forever,” said Irfan S. Deen, Product Development Manager at Batelco. “The service Bango offers is unrivalled in our experience. They are the number one app store carrier billing provider and they have proven that to us. Thank you to the Bango team, we look forward to more integrations together, leveraging our integration to the Bango Payment Platform.”
Bango CEO Ray Anderson commented, “Bango has developed a powerful technology platform that has the flexibility to enable the world’s most demanding app stores to get to market quickly and reliably, and with the sophisticated reconciliation and reporting systems they need. The Bango launch team is highly experienced, having used this powerful technology to launch more app store carrier billing deployments than anyone else. Launching Batelco Bahrian in Google Play ahead of schedule confirms the power of our platform approach, supported by the effectiveness of Bango expertise.”
The vast smartphone base in the Middle East is continuing to grow at a pace, with Android devices dominating the market. Google Play is available across all Android devices and offers in excess of 1.5 million apps. The Bango Payment Platform unifies these two giant markets, giving customers access to a wealth of purchasable content, with just one-click.
